Collin Foods

Risk and Compliance Manager

Job No: CFL936
Location: Brisbane

The opportunity

Collins Foods Limited is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Risk & Compliance Manager, Australia to help strengthen risk management, compliance and governance across our Australian business. This is a hands-on second line role for someone who can translate frameworks and obligations into practical, business-focused outcomes.

Reporting to the Group General Manager, Risk & Compliance, you will provide oversight, guidance and constructive challenge to operational and functional leaders, while preserving clear accountability within the business for owning risks and operating controls. You will also lead the Store Audit program and support timely, insightful reporting to senior management and governance committees.

About Collins Foods

Collins Foods Limited is an ASX-listed restaurant operator with a long history in Queensland and a substantial KFC restaurant network across Australia and Europe. Our Restaurant Support Centre in Hamilton supports our restaurant operations and broader business functions.

What will you be doing

  • Partner with the Group General Manager, Risk & Compliance and colleagues across the Group to develop, maintain and continually improve the Group Risk Management Framework.
  • Facilitate the identification, assessment and monitoring of strategic, financial, operational and compliance risks across the Australian business.
  • Provide independent second line oversight and constructive challenge over risk mitigation plans, controls and the business response to changing risk exposures.
  • Maintain risk and compliance policies, methodologies, reporting and monitoring processes, including oversight of emerging regulatory obligations.
  • Prepare clear risk reporting and targeted risk deep dives for senior management and relevant governance committees.
  • Lead the Store Audit program, using data-driven auditing to identify control deficiencies, fraud, loss and non-compliance, and communicate practical recommendations.
  • Coordinate appropriate responses to serious incidents, ensuring matters are assessed, investigated and documented appropriately.
  • Build risk awareness through advice, coaching and training, and work across Operations, Finance, People & Culture, Legal, Technology and other functions to embed sound decision-making.
  • Promote continuous improvement while reinforcing that business and functional management remain accountable for managing risks and operating controls.
  • Support a strong safety culture and demonstrate visible safety leadership in all aspects of the role.

About you

You are a pragmatic risk and compliance professional who combines strong technical capability with commercial judgement. You can work independently, build trusted relationships and confidently challenge senior stakeholders without losing sight of operational realities.

  • At least six years of relevant experience across risk management, compliance, internal audit or a related discipline, ideally in a complex, operational or multi-site environment.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, law or a related field. Professional risk management or compliance certification will be well regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating enterprise risk management and compliance frameworks, risk assessments, monitoring and executive-level reporting.
  • Strong analytical, research and reporting capability, with the curiosity and attention to detail to identify unusual trends, emerging issues and control gaps.
  • Experience leading cross-functional risk initiatives and influencing outcomes through others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make complex risk and compliance matters clear and relevant to different audiences.
  • A collaborative organised and self-directed working style, with sound judgement, integrity and the confidence to provide constructive challenge.
