About the Role:
The Property Accounts Officer plays a key role in ensuring the efficient financial management of the organisation’s property portfolio. This position is responsible for managing all property-related payments, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial information across a property database of more than 300 assets, and supporting period-end processes and audit requirements related to property accounts. The role requires strong attention to detail, data integrity, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and timely financial reporting.
What will you be doing:
- Process monthly rent payments according to the financial calendar, ensuring that the rent roll spreadsheet and leasing system are balanced
- Create and maintain the next month’s excel spreadsheet for invoicing and reconciliation purposes
- Calculate and process Rent, CPI Adjustments, and related payments
- Monitor the rent mailbox, review and process weekly ad-hoc payments to landlords, including electricity, grease trap, water, trade waste, rates, and land tax
- Monitor and review shopping centre outgoings and charges, ensuring accurate allocations and that charges are correctly captured within the property system
- Process budget and actual outgoings figures submitted by landlords
- Calculate percentage rent and issue letters to landlords as required and follow up on outstanding invoices
- Reconcile vendor accounts and accrual accounts for rent, outgoings, promotional funds, and landlord sub-meter utilities
- Support the annual budget process for property-related costs
- Assist the Financial Accounting Manager with AASB 16 leasing compliance and related tasks
Who are you:
- Previous experience in a similar Accounts Payable, Finance Officer or other high-volume transactional finance role including filing, responding and prioritising shared mailbox
- Demonstrated experience with accounting for property or real estate portfolios
- Can you demonstrate experience managing property or real estate portfolios, with a strong understanding of property-related financial data
- Intermediate to Advanced MS Skills, predominantly within Excel
- Demonstrated experience working with property related databases is essential; MRI Prolease (Lease Eagle) is desirable.
- Do you have great attention to detail and are you an inquisitive person that always wants to know more
