Group Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing

The Group Head of Safety & Wellbeing will provide leadership and expertise across all aspects of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing, workers compensation (including self-insurance) and return to work to ensure a safe environment, with a focus on strengthening safety leadership, health and wellbeing of our people.

About the Role

This is more than a leadership role, it’s your opportunity to define what Health, Safety and Wellbeing looks like in a global organisation.

We are seeking a dynamic, pragmatic, hands on and influential Group Head of Safety & Wellbeing to lead our enterprise-wide approach. Reporting to the Group Chief People & Culture Officer and as part of the HR Leadership Team, you will drive the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Strategy, Safety Management System (SMS) and critical risk programs.

This role partners across the business to strengthen safety leadership, enhance wellbeing outcomes and deliver sustainable improvements in performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Safety & Wellbeing strategy, policies and frameworks
  • Oversee the SMS and ensure legislative compliance
  • Drive safety leadership capability and embed a strong safety culture
  • Implement critical risk frameworks, including psychosocial hazards
  • Deliver WHS governance, reporting and insights to Executive and Board
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve safety, wellbeing and injury outcomes
  • Lead incident management, investigations and preventative strategies
  • Oversee workers compensation and self-insurance governance
  • Monitor performance, trends and data to drive continuous improvement
  • Build capability through training, coaching and stakeholder engagement
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Safety & Wellbeing team

What You Will Bring:

  • Strong, proven experience in operational and strategic WHS, injury management and enterprise risk in multi site organisations (QSR industry experience valued highly)
  • A practical, hands on and pragmatic approach to operational safety leadership
  • Deep knowledge of WHS legislation and governance
  • Experience managing self-insurance and workers compensation
  • Strong stakeholder influence and leadership capability
  • A data-driven, continuous improvement and resilient mindset
  • Team leadership experience
