As the Group Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the Group’s strategic, operational, and financial success. This influential position leads and oversees all group-wide reporting, accounting, and control functions, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and insight across the business. Key Responsibilities

Compliance, Governance and Risk Management

  • Lead the delivery and maintenance of consistent internal controls, processes and reporting across AU and EU Finance with the objective of implementing a shared services model in Australia. (Flexibility required to attend meetings with European team semi-regularly in the evenings)
  • Lead the development, maintenance and enhancement of Group Finance and Accounting policies and processes ensuring they align with relevant standards and principles.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls that ensure compliance with IFRS, group policies and procedures and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Leverage new and existing technology to drive automation and process improvements across the finance functions.

Accounting, Consolidation and Reporting

  • Support the periodic financial close process (including journals, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting) across AU and EU to ensure timely, accurate and complete financial reporting.
  • Support the preparation of Half and Full Year financial statements and investor reporting.

Technical Accounting and Audit

  • Prepare impairment models and technical accounting papers for half‑year and year‑end reporting across Australia and Europe.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers to cover various on a range of topics including interpretation and adoption of new accounting standards.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure efficient audit processes and timely completion.
  • Address audit findings and implement corrective actions to strengthen financial processes.

Leadership

  • Foster effective communication, collaboration and alignment across finance teams in Australia, Europe and broader business functions.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar senior role.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Advanced experience in the creation and delivery of technical accounting papers.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders, at all levels, to achieve objectives.
  • In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Australian Accounting Standards (AASB’s), and a strong commitment to control adherence.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical reasoning skills, with a strong capacity for independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated experience in foreign operations and multi-currency consolidation
  • Consistently seeks opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the finance function.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Extensive experience with ERP systems, with JD Edwards experience considered an advantage.
