About the Role

Due to internal promotion, we have a vacancy for a HR Projects and Operations Lead. This role is the 2IC to the Head of People Services, and leads a team of two direct reports that provide frontline HR support and coaching to our employees and leaders and management of HR transactional services across our business. This role also takes a lead on the delivery of HR projects and initiatives linked to the Annual Operating Plan.  

As the HR Projects and Operations Lead, you will also take ownership for the following key duties and responsibilities: 

  • Lead day-to-day HR transactional operations, managing confidential and sensitive HR transactional issues and client needs 
  • Provide support, guidance and coaching to employees and Leaders on HR-related matters. 
  • Drive ongoing improvements through standardization, automation, and consolidation of processes in alignment with HR strategic goals. 
  • As the subject matter expert, manage Visa requirements and other activities to ensure the Company remains compliant with relevant immigration legislation.  
  • Undertake a regular review of people related policies, procedures, contracts and other employment related documentation, ensuring they remain accurate, current and relevant, aligned to legislation and industrial instruments. 
  • In conjunction with the Head of People Services, provide business partnering support for our Restaurant Support Centre, providing HR advice and support to leaders on issues including the development and delivery of people initiatives, and performance management coaching.   
  • Take a lead role on HR projects and initiatives linked to the overarching HR and business plans. 
  • Provide award and agreement interpretation, policy advice, employee grievance support, performance management support, absence management and other HR generalist tasks.

About You

As the HR Projects & Operations Lead you are passionate about all things HR and you will bring to the role the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Bachelor's Degree or appropriate relevant qualification in HR or equivalent. 
  • HR Generalist experience including strong knowledge of human resources best practice, and experience in the application and interpretation of industrial instruments and legislation. 
  • Demonstrated project management experience – highly desired 
  • Previous experience in a Retail or multi-site environment, with QSR experience advantageous 
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and partner with key stakeholders to ensure quality outcomes are achieved 
  • Proven Strong leadership abilities to guide and motivate project teams, manage stakeholders, and drive project success. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with, and communicate with stakeholders, team members.
